IT Director

The IT Director, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization's technology infrastructure and ensuring its alignment with business goals.
This individual will develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation.
The IT Director will lead a team of technology professionals, manage vendor relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and prioritize IT initiatives that support the company's strategic objectives.
Additionally, they will stay abreast of emerging technologies, assess their potential impact on the organization, and provide guidance on their adoption.
The ideal candidate for this role possesses a strong background in IT management, a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully implementing technology solutions to drive business growth.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) to seven (7) years related experience with progressively increasing responsibility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of one of the following certifications preferred:
CCENT, Network+, or Security+, MCSA Server, CISSP, CCNA, PMP Key Success Factors:
Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, applications training, technologies, cybersecurity, and software development methodologies desired.
Proven experience in developing and implementing IT strategies, policies, and procedures to align with organizational goals and drive operational efficiency.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse group of IT professionals.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to effectively address complex IT issues and make informed recommendations.
Exceptional project management skills to successfully oversee multiple IT initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
Proficiency in vendor management, including contract negotiations, service level agreements (SLAs), and performance monitoring.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, such as executives, department heads, and end-users, to understand their technology needs and translate them into actionable IT strategies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in IT, and the ability to assess their potential impact on the organization and recommend relevant technology adoption.
A commitment to staying updated on advancements in technology and continuous learning to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of IT innovation.
Essential Functions:
Develop and execute an IT strategy aligned with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and software applications.
Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the security, integrity, and availability of data and systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technology needs and initiatives that support business operations and drive innovation.
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and high-quality technology solutions.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and user experience.
Develop and monitor IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources and adherence to financial targets.
Implement and maintain IT governance processes, including risk management, compliance, and disaster recovery planning.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology, providing insights and recommendations for leveraging emerging technologies to gain a competitive edge.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the IT team, promoting knowledge sharing and skill enhancement.
